因此,學科詞彙教學需要獨立處理,不能假設學生已經透過日常英語課,自動具備理解學科內容所需的詞彙基礎。

核心學科詞彙應該在哪個時間點教授?

建議在每個學習單元開始的第一課,用十分鐘明確教授該單元三至五個核心詞彙,附上定義與例句,並要求學生在單元完結前,至少在書面練習中使用過每個詞彙一次。這種前置教學,比起讓學生在閱讀材料中自行推敲詞義有效得多,尤其對於語言基礎較弱的學生而言,推敲詞義本身已經是一重額外負擔。
