How do I avoid teaching the same thing three times?
Write down where energy appears. Energy shows up in grade 6 as food chains, in grade 7 as transfer and conservation, and in grade 8 as bond energy and climate. Those are three different treatments of one idea, and students only see the connection if you name it out loud each time.
