Why teachers use these

Why British Columbia teachers use these

The BC curriculum tells you what students should understand, do and know, then deliberately stops short of telling you what Tuesday looks like. That freedom is the point of the redesign, and it is also why planning eats your evenings. Each unit here arrives as a finished sequence: a lesson plan with timings, a slide deck you can rewrite, worksheets on four levels and the answer keys. You keep the professional judgment and lose the typing.

What's covered

What each download contains

Every unit is a complete teaching package rather than a single worksheet.

  • Worksheets on four levels
  • Editable PowerPoint slide deck
  • Lesson plan with timings
  • Full answer keys
  • Printable and digital versions

Make it work for everyone

Differentiation and the proficiency scale

Four levels of the same task let you hand a struggling reader and a fast finisher work that looks alike and still stretches both. Because the worksheets and keys are editable, you can strip out a scaffold or add an extension question. The written work then gives you something concrete to place against Emerging, Developing, Proficient and Extending.

Good to know

Frequently asked questions

Are these aligned with the BC curriculum?

They are not published, approved or endorsed by the Ministry of Education and Child Care. They are written to the concepts and skills the BC curriculum covers, so they map onto Big Ideas and curricular competencies you already plan around. Open the preview, check it against your unit plan, then adapt the editable files.

Can I use these as evidence for K–9 reporting?

Yes. Completed worksheets, exit tasks and marked keys give you dated work samples for a student's file. Since every file is editable Word or PowerPoint, you can drop your own criteria language onto the sheet before printing, so the evidence lines up with how you describe proficiency to families.

Do I need a separate download for each of my blocks?

No. One purchase covers your own classroom, so the same unit runs across every block you teach and comes back next September without a second payment. The download stays yours. You are simply not licensed to pass the files to colleagues or upload them to a shared school drive.
