Alberta Programs of Study Teaching Resources (K–12)
Alberta's Programs of Study set out what students should know by the end of a grade, not how you get them there. These downloads are the lessons, graduated practice and answer keys that fill the gap.

Why teachers use these
Why Alberta teachers use these
Alberta gives you general and specific outcomes and then leaves the teaching entirely to you. With curriculum renewal still working its way through the elementary grades, plenty of teachers are rebuilding material they had already perfected. A finished unit hands you the slide deck, four levels of practice and the answer key in one download, so your prep hours go to the Division 2 class in front of you instead of to retyping questions at nine at night.
What's covered
What you get in every unit
Each file covers a full block of teaching rather than a single filler worksheet.
- Four levels of differentiated worksheets
- Editable PowerPoint lesson slides
- Full answer keys for marking
- Lesson plan with suggested timings
- Printable and digital versions
Make it work for everyone
Differentiation and evidence of learning
Because every worksheet comes on four levels, one lesson can serve the student still building fluency and the one who needs extending, without you writing two sets. Keep the completed tiers as evidence when you draft report card comments or sit down with a parent before a Grade 6 or Grade 9 Provincial Achievement Test.

Frequently asked questions
Are these aligned to Alberta's Programs of Study?
They are not published, approved or endorsed by Alberta Education. Each unit is written to the concepts and skills the Programs of Study cover, so most map onto an existing long-range plan without surgery. The files are editable Word and PowerPoint, so you can paste in your grade's exact outcome wording or swap an example for a local one.
Will one unit work in a Division 3 class with a wide spread of readers?
That is what the four tiers are for. Everyone works on the same topic and the same lesson slides, but the reading load and the number of scaffolded steps change from sheet to sheet. In practice you print two or three tiers, hand them out quietly, and the class discussion stays whole-group.
Can I use one purchase across all my sections, and again next year?
Yes. A purchase is licensed for the buying teacher's own classroom, which covers every section you teach and every year you teach it. Files download instantly, so there is nothing to renew and nothing shipped. If a colleague down the hall wants the same unit, they need their own copy.
