Quick answer

The Career Readiness Curriculum Bundle ($99.99) holds eight units for Grades 9–12: Financial Literacy – Handling Money and Debt Prevention; Application Training (cover letter, résumé, interview); professional email; presenting; customer conversations and conflicts; time management and study methods; conflict and team management; and Digitalisation and AI in the World of Work. It suits high school and CTE teachers running career readiness, work-based learning or advisory courses in Colorado, as a starter rather than a whole course.

The real problem

Local graduation rules and a new state condition

Colorado leaves graduation requirements to districts under local control, so a career readiness course in one district can look nothing like one in the next. Two state-level developments still shape what high school teachers are asked to cover. The Colorado Academic Standards for social studies, revised in 2022, include Personal Financial Literacy as a standalone Standard 5 in high school. And HB25-1192, signed on May 23, 2025, makes completing a financial literacy course, along with a FAFSA or state aid application with exceptions, a condition of graduation. Which graduating class it first applies to is something your district should confirm. On the CTE side, the state's programs are overseen by the Colorado Community College System, whose associate vice chancellor serves as state CTE director. For the teacher, this often means a course that has to do several jobs at once: some money content, real practice with résumés and interviews, communication skills employers expect, and an honest look at how AI is changing work. Few teachers have all of that prepared, and building eight separate units with worksheets and slides is a big summer project.

Why it fits

How the eight units fit a Colorado career course

Each unit stands alone, so you can teach the whole set or pull the ones your course outline needs.

  • Handling Money and Debt Prevention adds a money unit to a career course, separate from a full financial literacy course.
  • Application Training covers cover letters, résumés and interviews for a first job or training place.
  • Business Letter and Professional Email Communication teaches the writing students need for internships and applications.
  • Customer conversations and conflicts gives realistic speaking practice for retail and service jobs.
  • Conflict and Team Management prepares students for group projects and work-based learning placements.
  • Digitalisation and AI in the World of Work looks at how AI is changing jobs students may choose.

Getting started

A suggested semester outline

Use this as a rough sequence. Your district's course outline and any CTE program plan decide the final order.

  1. Weeks 1–3: time and teamworkOpen with Time Management and Study Methods, then Conflict and Team Management. Students set up habits and group norms they will need for the rest of the course.
  2. Weeks 4–6: applying for workTeach Application Training with cover letters, résumés and interviews, then the professional email unit. Students finish this block with a full application package for a real or practice opening.
  3. Weeks 7–9: speaking at workUse Presenting and giving talks, then customer conversations and conflicts. Let quieter students practice in small groups first, before anyone presents to the whole class or plays a customer scene.
  4. Weeks 10–12: moneyTeach Handling Money and Debt Prevention. If your school also runs a separate financial literacy course, coordinate with that teacher so students do not repeat the same lessons.
  5. Weeks 13–15: AI at workFinish with Digitalisation and AI in the World of Work. A closing discussion connects the course to the careers students named at the start of the semester.

What to buy

Career bundle or a finance-first option

The Career Readiness Curriculum Bundle at $99.99 is the pick for a career readiness, CTE or advisory course; buying the eight units one by one would cost $199.92. If your assignment is the financial literacy course itself, the Personal Finance Starter Bundle ($59.99, parts $78.94) opens it with a day one lesson, goals, a mindset quiz, debt and interest. Business and finance pathway teachers in Grades 10–12 can add the Accounting & Economics Fundamentals Bundle ($109.99, parts $224.91). If you only need the AI unit, Digitalisation and AI in the World of Work is sold on its own for $24.99.

Honest limits

The honest fine print

This bundle is not written for Colorado. It has no Colorado content and no Colorado Academic Standards codes, and it is not a financial literacy course under HB25-1192. It includes one money unit, not a full course, and nothing on the FAFSA or state aid applications. Check it against your district's graduation requirements and any CTE program plan. You supply local labor market examples, employer contacts and grading policies. The licence covers your own classes; for team use, message Teach Lessons before buying. Within 7 days you can exchange it for store credit of equal value if it is not a fit; cash refunds are not offered.

Good to know

Frequently asked questions

Does this bundle fulfill Colorado's financial literacy graduation requirement?

No, and it is not presented that way. It is not aligned to or approved under HB25-1192 or the Colorado Academic Standards, and it contains one money unit rather than a financial literacy course. Your district decides which course students take to graduate; confirm with your district what it accepts and when the requirement applies.

Can it be part of a Colorado CTE program?

The units are general career readiness lessons, not a state-approved CTE program. Colorado's CTE programs are overseen by the Colorado Community College System, and program content is set through your district and that system. Check with your CTE coordinator whether and how these units can support your course.

Some unit titles mention apprentices and training. Do they fit U.S. students?

The units are written around a first job or training place, so a few titles use words like apprentices or training. The skills themselves, managing time, writing emails, handling customers and working in teams, apply to part-time jobs, internships and work-based learning placements. Adjust examples as you teach.

Is there anything on the FAFSA or college aid applications?

No. None of the eight units covers the FAFSA or state aid applications, which HB25-1192 includes alongside the financial literacy course. You will need to plan that part separately, for example together with your school's counseling office, and confirm with your district which students need to complete which application.

Can several teachers in my school use one purchase?

The licence is for your own teaching. If several advisory or CTE teachers want to use the same units, send Teach Lessons a short message before buying to ask about team or school use. Redistribution and public posting of the files are not allowed. A quick question before purchase saves trouble later.

How is it delivered?

As a digital download available right after purchase. The link arrives by email and stays in your customer account under Orders. All eight units include worksheets, activities and slides for print or digital classrooms, so you can start planning the semester the same day. Nothing is shipped.
