The real problem

Why helping at the kitchen table is harder than it looks

Most parents who start helping with reading or math at home run into the same wall within a week. You know how to read and how to multiply, but you do not know how the school taught it, which step comes first, or how much practice is enough before moving on. Then there is the mood. A second grader who already feels behind will push back hard, and an evening that was supposed to take twenty minutes turns into tears on both sides. Grade 3 math brings place value, multiplication and division that many adults learned differently, and Grade 4 English asks for more grammar and longer writing. What parents usually need is two things at once: a short explanation for themselves of what to teach and how, and practice pages the child can work on while the parent sits next to them. That pairing of guide and workbook is what this bundle is built around.

Why it fits

What each part of the bundle does for you

Every guide speaks to you as the parent and comes with a workbook for your child, so you are never left holding only practice pages.

  • Learn to Read at Home covers early reading for Grades 1–2, when decoding and confidence form.
  • No More School Struggles addresses motivation and school frustration in Grade 2, before habits harden.
  • Math Made Easy works through Grade 3 math with you, so your explanations match the practice.
  • English Made Easy supports Grade 4 English as reading and writing demands step up.
  • Each guide is paired with a workbook, so your child has pages to complete while you coach.
  • Everything is a digital download, so you can print one section at a time instead of a whole book.

Getting started

A simple way to use it over the first month

This is a suggested rhythm, not a rule. Adjust it to your child's age, energy and the time you actually have after school.

  1. Read the guide before the child sees anythingSpend one evening with the guide that fits your child's grade. Note what it says to teach first and how it suggests you explain it, so you start calm and with a plan.
  2. Pick one subject to startStart with whichever area causes the most friction now, reading or math. Running everything at once tends to tire both of you; one strand done well builds trust.
  3. Keep sessions short and regularA suggestion many families find workable is fifteen to twenty minutes on most weekdays, using a few workbook pages per sitting rather than long weekend marathons.
  4. Use the motivation guide earlyIf your second grader resists, read No More School Struggles before pushing more practice. Changing how you approach the session often matters more than the next worksheet.
  5. Check in with the teacherTell your child's teacher what you are working on at home. They can tell you where your child stands in class, so your practice supports what happens at school.

What to buy

Which download to choose

For most families with a child in Grades 1–4, the Learning at Home Bundle at $79.99 is the right start, because it is the only option here that explains things to you as the parent; the four parts cost $119.96 separately. If you already feel confident teaching and simply need more practice, the Grades 1–6 Literacy Skills Curriculum ($49.99, parts $95.76) adds grammar, writing, phonics and reading packs for each grade, and the Elementary Math Practice & Warm-Up Bundle ($34.99, parts $50.92) adds seven math practice packs plus warm-ups for Grades 1–4. Homeschooling families in Grades 3–5 who want science too can look at the Elementary Science Curriculum ($109.99).

Honest limits

What the bundle will not do

These guides are not written for any particular state, school district or reading program, and they do not reproduce what your child's school uses. Check with the teacher, or with your state's homeschool rules if you homeschool, about what your child is expected to learn. The bundle is not a full year of instruction in every subject; it covers the four areas named above. You supply printing and the time to sit with your child. The licence is for your own family; if you are a tutor or school wanting to share it, send Teach Lessons a short message first. If it is not what you expected, you can exchange it within 7 days for store credit of equal value.

Good to know

Frequently asked questions

Does this follow my state's standards or my child's school curriculum?

No. The bundle is not aligned with, endorsed by or approved by any state, district or school, and it does not contain state-specific content. It covers early reading, Grade 2 motivation, Grade 3 math and Grade 4 English in general terms. Ask your child's teacher what they are working on, compare it with the guides, and use the parts that match.

I have never taught anyone to read. Is that a problem?

That is exactly who the guides are for. They are written to the parent, not to a trained teacher, and each one comes with a workbook so your child has something concrete to do while you follow the guide. Start by reading the guide for your child's grade on your own before the first session.

My child is in Grade 2. Is the whole bundle useful or only part of it?

Right now, mostly Learn to Read at Home and No More School Struggles. Math Made Easy targets Grade 3 and English Made Easy targets Grade 4, so they become useful as your child moves up. If you only want the Grade 2 parts today, each guide is also sold on its own.

Can we use it during a school closure or while homeschooling?

Yes, the bundle is meant for parents supporting learning after school, during school closures or while homeschooling. If you homeschool, note that it covers reading, math, English and motivation for specific grades, not every subject your state may expect, so check your state's homeschool law before relying on it.

How do I get the files after buying?

Everything is a digital download. You get a link by email right after purchase, and the files also stay in your customer account under Orders, so you can print a fresh set of workbook pages later, for example when your child needs to repeat a section.

What if it does not suit my child?

Within 7 days of purchase you can exchange the bundle for store credit of equal value and choose something else from the store, such as one of the math or literacy practice bundles or a single grade pack. Please note this is store credit, not a cash refund.
