The real problem
Spring review in a year of moves and changes
The 2026–27 year at San Antonio ISD began on a Wednesday in mid-August, and for several elementary campuses it began somewhere new. Under the district's Bond 2020 construction program, Schenck Elementary students returned to a new two-story building on their original campus, and Collins Garden Elementary moved temporarily to the former Storm Elementary during renovations. Bonham is now split by grade: Bonham Primary at Green serves prekindergarten through third grade, and Bonham Academy serves grades four through eight. Kelly Academy at Lowell finished consolidating into a modernized campus for Head Start through eighth grade. Teachers who spent the fall unpacking boxes, learning a new building or losing their grade-level neighbors start spring with less planning time than usual. Around the city, Northside ISD and North East ISD are reviewing campuses too, with possible closure votes or consolidation reviews this fall and winter. Then spring testing arrives on top of all of that. The hard part is not finding review material. It is fitting review into the plan you already have, without stopping new instruction for weeks or building practice sets from scratch at night.
Why it fits
How the five parts slot into an existing plan
The bundle is built in small pieces, so review can run beside your lessons instead of replacing them.
- Daily ELA Practice task cards work as morning work or literacy centers while you keep regular lessons.
- The ELA Test Prep & Assessment Toolkit gives structured review for the reading and writing side.
- The Math Test Prep & Assessment Toolkit pairs practice with progress monitoring to show who needs more.
- Grade 3 Math Warm-Up Worksheets give third graders a short daily start before the main lesson.
- Grade 4 Math Warm-Up Worksheets do the same for fourth grade, useful at a split Grades 4–8 campus.
- Every piece is printable, so a teacher in a temporary building needs only a copier.
Getting started
A spring review plan that keeps new teaching going
Here is one possible schedule. Set the dates by your campus testing calendar.
- Start warm-ups earlyFrom January, open math each day with a Grade 3 or Grade 4 warm-up sheet. Five minutes a day adds up and keeps old skills alive while you teach new ones.
- Turn morning work into reviewSwap your usual morning work for Daily ELA Practice task cards. Students practice reading skills every day while you take attendance and handle the morning.
- Check progress in mathUse the progress monitoring in the Math Test Prep & Assessment Toolkit once a month. It shows which students need a small group and which can keep going.
- Block the ELA toolkit for the last weeksIn the final weeks before testing, schedule the ELA Test Prep & Assessment Toolkit as a focused review block, while new instruction continues in the other part of your literacy time.
- Keep a folder for absent daysPut a set of warm-ups and task cards in your sub folder. If you are out during review season, the class still practices instead of losing the day.
What to buy
Picking test prep or a grade bundle
The Grades 3–5 Test Prep Bundle at $64.99 is the right choice for spring review; bought one by one, the five parts cost $104.95. If you want year-round practice for one grade, the 3rd Grade Practice Bundle ($59.99) or the 4th Grade Practice Bundle ($69.99) adds grammar, writing, reading and math units; each shares its grade's warm-ups with this bundle. The Elementary Math Units Bundle ($69.99) includes the same Math Test Prep & Assessment Toolkit plus units on Numbers to 1000, fractions and area and perimeter, so do not buy both for the math toolkit alone.
Honest limits
Honest limits for Texas classrooms
This bundle was not written for Texas, for San Antonio ISD or for any specific state test. It has no TEKS codes and no Texas test formats, so check every item against the TEKS for your grade and your campus guidance. Math warm-ups cover Grades 3 and 4 only; fifth grade teachers rely on the two toolkits and the ELA task cards. You do the printing. A grade-level team that wants to share it should send Teach Lessons a short message first. Within 7 days you can exchange it for store credit of equal value; there is no cash refund.
Good to know
Frequently asked questions
Is this aligned to the TEKS or the Texas state tests?
No. The bundle is not aligned to, endorsed by or approved under the TEKS, and it is not tied to any Texas test. It gives general Grades 3–5 ELA and math review with progress monitoring. Compare the items with the TEKS for your grade and with your campus or district guidance before using them for test review.
Does it work for fifth grade?
Partly. The ELA and math toolkits and the daily ELA task cards are listed for Grades 3–5. The math warm-ups are for Grades 3 and 4 only. A fifth grade teacher can still use the warm-ups as quick review for students who need to rebuild earlier skills.
I teach at a campus that moved this year. Is there anything special to set up?
No. The resources are printable, so all you need is access to a copier. If your room is in a temporary building, you can print a week of warm-ups and task cards at a time and keep them in a folder until the next week.
Can I use it with an intervention group?
Yes. The progress monitoring in the math toolkit helps you choose who joins a small group, and the warm-ups make good short practice for students who need extra repetition. The bundle lists intervention teachers among the people it suits, alongside Grades 3–5 classroom teachers planning test review.
When can I start using it?
The download is ready right after purchase. You get a link by email, and the files stay in your customer account under Orders. You can print the first warm-up sheets tonight and introduce them tomorrow morning, even in the middle of a unit. Nothing is shipped.
Can our grade-level team share one purchase?
The licence covers your own classroom and your own students. For a grade-level team or a whole campus, send Teach Lessons a short message before sharing. Posting the files on a public site or reselling them is not allowed, and neither is passing them to other schools.
