Algebra Materials for a Small School Math Department

In a small school with one or two math teachers covering every grade, the Complete Algebra Bundle gives the department a single set of 10 algebra workbooks from Grade 5 to Grade 12: expressions and ratio, equations and inequalities, linear functions and systems, quadratics and function transformations, plus warm-ups. Before both teachers use it, send Teach Lessons a short message about team use.

Quick answer

For a small school math department, the Complete Algebra Bundle ($129.99) gives one shared set of 10 algebra workbooks for Grades 5–12, covering expressions, equations and inequalities, real numbers, ratio, linear functions and systems, quadratics and transformations, plus two warm-up sets. Separately the parts cost $199.90. Using it across more than one teacher needs a short message to Teach Lessons first. It covers algebra, not a full math course.

The real problem

When two teachers cover eight grades

Small schools ask a lot of their math teachers. One person might teach Grades 6 through 8 and another Grades 9 through 12, or a single teacher covers everything above Grade 5. There is no department head buying materials, no curriculum coordinator, and often no budget line big enough for a full adopted program at every level. The result is a patchwork. Each grade uses whatever was on the shelf, plus what the teacher found online. Students meet new notation and new methods every year, and nobody has time to sort it out. When a teacher leaves, their files leave with them, and the next person starts from scratch. Algebra suffers most from this, because it is cumulative. Expressions in Grade 6 feed equations in Grade 7, which feed linear functions in Grade 8 or 9. A small school can actually do this better than a large one, since the same teacher or two see students across years. What they need is one set of material that runs the full range, kept in a shared place, so the work done one year is still there the next.

Why it fits

How it fits a small department

A single bundle covers the algebra a small school teaches across grades, without buying a separate program per level.

  • Ten workbooks span Grades 5–12, so one purchase covers algebra for every grade a small school teaches.
  • Foundations workbooks suit the middle grades; quadratics and transformations suit the upper grades.
  • Shared materials keep methods consistent when the same students move from one teacher to the other.
  • Files stay in the buyer's account, so the material survives a staff change if stored in a shared place.
  • Warm-up sets give both teachers a common daily routine across grade levels.
  • At $129.99, the bundle costs $69.91 less than buying all ten workbooks one at a time.

Getting started

Getting the department started

Suggested first steps for a small team. Adjust to how many teachers and grades you have.

  1. Message Teach Lessons about team useBefore buying or sharing, send a short message saying how many teachers will use the bundle. That settles the licence question up front. Keep the reply on file.
  2. Split the workbooks by teacherAgree which teacher uses which workbooks. Usually the foundations and warm-ups go to the middle grades and the later workbooks to high school. Write the split down for next year.
  3. Agree on one handoffPick the point where students move from one teacher to the other, and decide together which workbook ends one year and which starts the next.
  4. Store files in one shared folderKeep the downloads where the school can find them. Note in the folder which workbooks were taught to which group, so next year's teacher can see it.
  5. List what is still missingWrite down the non-algebra topics each grade needs. That list is your next purchasing decision, made with the algebra side already covered. Share it with your principal.

What to buy

Full bundle or a split purchase

For a small school covering algebra from Grade 5 up, the Complete Algebra Bundle at $129.99 is the simplest choice, and cheaper than the parts at $199.90. If only your middle school grades need material, the Algebra Foundations Bundle ($59.99) covers expressions, equations and inequalities, real numbers and ratio. If your gap is the upper end, the Pre-Calculus Prep Bundle ($44.99) covers quadratics, transformations and a Grade 11 derivatives workbook. If staff time is the bigger problem, Teach-Life-Balance ($89.90) is a separate course on teacher workload.

Honest limits

Know this before you buy

This is algebra only; geometry, statistics, measurement and other math at each grade are not included, and it is not a full course for any year. No alignment with state standards or any authorizer's requirements is claimed, so check it against your own. The standard licence is for one teacher's own teaching; for a department, send Teach Lessons a short message first. No purchase orders or invoices are promised, so ask about school purchasing before ordering. If it is not a fit, exchange it within 7 days for store credit of equal value.

Good to know

Frequently asked questions

Is the bundle aligned to our state standards or accreditation requirements?

No alignment, endorsement or accreditation claim is made. The workbooks are written for grade bands from 5 to 12 and cover the algebra topics listed on the product page. Compare those with your state framework and any accreditation review your school faces before relying on it.

Can both of our math teachers use it?

Use by more than one teacher needs a short message to Teach Lessons first. Describe your school and how many teachers will use it, and you will get an answer about team use before you share files. If a third teacher joins later, ask again rather than assuming the first answer covers them.

Can the school pay by purchase order or invoice?

No purchase order or invoice process is promised. If your school has specific purchasing rules, send Teach Lessons a question before buying. Describe how your school normally pays for digital resources and ask whether that can work. Settling this before you order saves trouble with your business office later.

Is this all the math our students need?

No. It covers the algebra strand from Grade 5 to Grade 12. Other areas of math need separate materials. Geometry, statistics, measurement and number work for each grade need separate materials. For the upper grades, the Pre-Calculus Prep Bundle and the High School Data & Statistics Bundle are related options; for the middle grades, look at the Middle School Math Starter Bundle.

What happens to the files if the buyer leaves the school?

Files are in the purchaser's customer account. If the school bought it, save the downloads in a shared school folder so they stay available. Ask Teach Lessons about anything licence-related. Keeping a short note in the folder about which workbooks each grade used also helps a new teacher pick up where the last one stopped.

What if it is the wrong fit?

Within 7 days you can exchange it for store credit of equal value. It is store credit, not a cash refund. Before buying, have both teachers look at the product page and agree that the workbooks fit your grades. Credit can then go toward a smaller purchase, such as the Algebra Foundations Bundle, if only part of the range is needed.
