Teaching Several Algebra Courses at Once
Teaching Several Algebra Courses at Once
If you teach Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1 and a higher algebra section in the same year, the Complete Algebra Bundle gives you material for all of them from one download: 10 workbooks running from expressions and ratio to linear systems, quadratics and function transformations. Instead of hunting for resources three ways every Sunday, you pull from one set and spend the saved time on actual lesson planning.

Bought one by one the parts cost $199.90. It supplies algebra material for multiple sections, though it is not a complete course for any of them.

The real problem
The real cost of three preps
Three different algebra preps does not mean three times the work; it often feels worse. Each course has its own pace, its own vocabulary level and its own assessments. You might teach one-step equations in first period, systems by elimination in third, and transformations of functions after lunch. Every switch costs a little focus, and every course needs its own stack of practice pages. The usual workaround is to borrow from wherever you can: a colleague's old files, free worksheets online, a textbook from a previous adoption. That works for a while, but the notation and style change from page to page, and students in the lower course see a different approach from the one you use with the upper course. When a student moves between sections mid-year, the mismatch becomes obvious. What helps most is a single source that runs across all your levels, so the methods stay consistent and you know where to find material for any section without searching from scratch each week.
Why it fits
Why one bundle suits multiple preps
The 10 workbooks span the range of a typical multi-prep algebra load, from foundations to high school topics.
- Foundations workbooks on expressions, equations and real numbers suit your Pre-Algebra or Grade 6 to 7 section.
- The linear functions and systems workbook supports an Algebra 1 class with slope, y = mx + b and elimination.
- Quadratics and function transformations workbooks give your upper section material from the same series.
- Two warm-up sets let you open every class the same way, regardless of which course it is.
- Consistent methods across workbooks help when a student switches sections partway through the year.
- All 10 workbooks in one bundle cost $69.91 less than buying them individually.
Getting started
Setting up your preps in two weeks
A practical setup suggestion; how you divide the workbooks depends on your actual course load.
- Sort workbooks by courseMake one folder per course and place each workbook where it fits. Some, like ratio and percentage, may go in two folders depending on your sequence.
- Choose one warm-up routineUse the warm-up sets to open every section with the same five-minute routine. Students know what to expect, and you get a quick read on each class.
- Plan the week course by coursePlan each course in a single block of time rather than switching back and forth. Pulling from one bundle keeps that planning block short. It also keeps each thread clear.
- Print in batchesPrint materials for all sections in one go each week. Label stacks by period so the right pages reach the right class. Keep a spare set for absent students.
- Note where a course outruns the bundleKeep a list of topics your courses need that the workbooks do not cover. That list tells you what to source elsewhere for the rest of the year.
What to buy
What to buy for a multi-prep year
With three algebra preps, the Complete Algebra Bundle at $129.99 is usually the best value, since buying the ten workbooks separately costs $199.90. If your preps are all in the middle grades, the Algebra Foundations Bundle ($59.99, four workbooks) covers expressions, equations and inequalities, real numbers, and ratio for less. If one of your sections is actually a Grade 3 to 5 math group, the Elementary Math Units Bundle ($69.99) is the right fit for that class. Teach-Life-Balance ($89.90) is a separate course on managing teacher workload, worth a look if three preps are leaving you short of evenings.
Honest limits
Where you still fill gaps
The bundle covers algebra only, so it will not supply full courses for any of your preps; geometry, statistics or other topics in those courses need other sources. You also write your own tests if you want them to match your section's pacing. No alignment to a standard is claimed, so check each workbook against your course requirements. The licence is for your own teaching; to share with a co-teacher, message Teach Lessons first. If it is not a fit, you can exchange it within 7 days for store credit of equal value.
Good to know
Frequently asked questions
Do the workbooks meet my state's algebra standards?
No alignment or endorsement is claimed for any state or national standard. The workbooks are written for Grades 5–12 and cover the topics listed on the product page. Check them against your own course outlines for each prep and decide where each workbook belongs. The answer may differ from prep to prep.
Which workbook fits an Algebra 1 class?
The linear functions and systems workbook covers graphing, slope and intercept, y = mx + b, substitution and elimination, with a reading text, six differentiated worksheets, word problems, a glossary, a group puzzle, a quiz with answer key and a poster project. The equations and inequalities and quadratics workbooks also suit Algebra 1.
Can I use the same workbook in two sections at different levels?
Yes, within your own teaching. The linear functions workbook, for example, includes differentiated worksheets, so you can give a stronger section a different version than a section that needs more support. That keeps the topic and method the same across sections while the difficulty changes, which helps if students move between your classes during the year.
Is this enough to run three full courses?
No. It supplies algebra material across your preps, but it does not cover every topic those courses include, and it is not a full year for any of them. Plan to add materials for the rest. Keep a running list of gaps as you plan each week.
Can I buy only the workbooks I need?
Yes. Each of the 10 workbooks is sold separately, and the four foundations workbooks also come as the Algebra Foundations Bundle. The full bundle is cheaper once you need most of them. Compare the prices of the workbooks you need with the $129.99 bundle price before choosing; the ten parts together cost $199.90.
What if it is not right for my courses?
Within 7 days you can exchange it for store credit of equal value. Exchanges are for store credit, not cash. Check the previews on the product page against each of your courses first, so you know which workbooks match before you buy. Credit can go toward a smaller bundle, such as the Algebra Foundations Bundle.
