Why teachers use these
Why North Carolina teachers use these
A 4x4 block schedule gives you ninety minutes to fill, twice as fast as a traditional year, and a Biology EOC waiting at the end of it. Add NC Check-Ins, an MTSS meeting that wants data on three students, and a hurricane day that eats a week of the calendar, and planning from scratch stops being realistic. A complete unit hands you the sequence, the slides, four levels of task and the key, so your prep goes into pacing and reteaching rather than into building materials from zero.

Make it work for everyone
Differentiation, MTSS and evidence
The four leveled versions mean a co-taught inclusion section and an honors section can run the same content on the same day without separate planning. Marked worksheets give you something concrete to bring to an MTSS or PLC data conversation, and the answer keys make it fast to score a set and see which standard needs another pass before the EOC.

Frequently asked questions
Are these aligned to the NC Standard Course of Study?
They are written to the concepts and skills the Standard Course of Study covers, and most units map cleanly onto its objectives. They are not published, reviewed or endorsed by NC DPI or any North Carolina district. Open the free preview, compare it against your unpacking document and pacing guide, and decide from there.
Will these help with the Biology or Math EOC?
Indirectly, and honestly. Nothing here is an EOC practice test or a released item bank. What the units give you is teaching content and graded practice on the underlying concepts, which is what students need long before test week. Use them for instruction, then use your district's released materials for format familiarity.
Do these work on a block schedule?
Yes. The lesson plan includes suggested timings you can stretch or compress, and because the slide deck and worksheets are separate files, a ninety-minute block usually runs the direct teaching, one worksheet level and the discussion task with time to spare. Everything is editable if you want to split a unit across two periods.
