Fort Lauderdale 3rd–5th Grade Test Prep Worksheets for Broward Classrooms

If you teach third, fourth or fifth grade in Broward County Public Schools and need spring test review that does not swallow your regular lessons, the Grades 3–5 Test Prep Bundle gives you ELA and math toolkits, daily task cards and math warm-ups for $64.99. Most of it runs in short daily blocks, so your planned units keep moving while review builds alongside them.

The real problem

Where review time comes from on the Broward calendar

Broward County Public Schools runs the 2026-27 year from Monday, August 10, 2026 to Friday, May 28, 2027. In December 2025 the School Board approved two school-year calendars at once for the first time, so you can already see the shape of this year and next. That calendar has three long breaks: a full week off for Thanksgiving, two weeks at winter break and a week of spring break. It also has built-in severe weather makeup days, which matter in South Florida because a lost day is usually taken back later, not added at the end of review season. For a Grades 3–5 teacher the squeeze is clear. Spring testing comes after spring break, when you have fewer instructional weeks left than the calendar suggests, and every week of review you add is a week your next unit waits. The two-week winter break also tends to erase some of the fall's math fluency. What usually works better than a review crunch is a little review every day, spread from January to spring, while regular instruction continues. Check your school's assessment calendar for the exact testing window.

Why it fits

How the five resources fit a Broward spring

The bundle mixes small daily routines with two larger toolkits. Here is where each part fits.

  • Daily ELA Practice task cards fill morning work or literacy centers without a separate review block.
  • Grade 3 and Grade 4 math warm-ups rebuild fluency in the first minutes after winter break.
  • The Math Test Prep & Assessment Toolkit includes progress monitoring to show who needs small-group time.
  • The ELA Test Prep & Assessment Toolkit gives the focused practice for the weeks right after spring break.
  • Short pieces fit around severe weather makeup days without forcing you to rewrite the review plan.
  • Task cards and warm-ups are simple to leave for a substitute when you are out on a review day.

Getting started

A January-to-spring review plan

This is a suggested sequence for Broward's calendar. Shift it once your school sets its testing dates.

  1. Return from winter break with warm-upsIn the first January week, start each math block with a Grade 3 or Grade 4 warm-up. Five to ten minutes a day brings back facts that slipped over the two weeks off.
  2. Add ELA task cards to morning workUse Daily ELA Practice as morning work or as a literacy center rotation. Students review reading and language skills while your main ELA unit continues as planned.
  3. Check progress in FebruaryUse the progress monitoring pieces in the math toolkit to see which students need extra help. Group them now rather than in the last week before spring break.
  4. Focus the weeks around spring breakBring in the ELA and math toolkits for targeted practice. Keep one regular lesson each day so the class does not spend whole days on test pages.
  5. Keep the final days calmIn the last days before testing, go back to short warm-ups and task cards. Familiar routines settle nervous third graders better than new material does.

What to buy

Picking the right Grades 3–5 resource

For most Broward classrooms the Grades 3–5 Test Prep Bundle at $64.99 is the main purchase; the five parts cost $104.95 separately. A third grade teacher who wants grade-level practice beyond test review may prefer the 3rd Grade Practice Bundle ($59.99), which adds the Numbers to 1000 unit. Fourth grade teachers can choose the 4th Grade Practice Bundle ($69.99), with full units on fractions and on area and perimeter. If math gaps are the bigger worry, the Elementary Math Units Bundle ($69.99, parts $99.96) gives four math units, including the same math toolkit.

Honest limits

Honest limits for Broward teachers

This bundle is written for any state. It has no Florida content and makes no claim about Florida's B.E.S.T. standards or the state's tests, so compare it with the B.E.S.T. benchmarks for your grade and your school's assessment guidance. Math warm-ups cover Grades 3 and 4 only, so fifth grade teachers rely on the toolkits for math. You print the pages yourself. The licence is for your own class; a grade-level team should send a short message to Teach Lessons first. Within 7 days you can exchange it for store credit of equal value if it does not fit.

Good to know

Frequently asked questions

Is this aligned with B.E.S.T. or built for Florida's state tests?

No. The bundle is not aligned with Florida's B.E.S.T. standards and is not endorsed or approved by the state or Broward County Public Schools. It is general Grades 3–5 review material. Check its content against the B.E.S.T. benchmarks and your school's test guidance before you rely on it.

Does it work for fifth grade?

Partly. The ELA and math toolkits and the Daily ELA Practice cover Grades 3–5. The two warm-up sets are for Grades 3 and 4 only, so fifth grade teachers get less daily math practice from this bundle than third and fourth grade teachers do. Pair the toolkits with your own fluency routine.

When should I start using it this year?

Starting after the two-week winter break works well for the Broward calendar. Daily pieces from January leave time for regular units. Starting in late spring is possible, but then you will lean more heavily on the toolkits. Plan the toolkits for the weeks right around spring break.

Can my whole grade-level team use one copy?

The licence covers your own teaching. Sharing across a team or school is possible after a short message to Teach Lessons, so ask before you copy pages for colleagues' classrooms. Say how many classrooms would use the pages when you write, and whether a coach or interventionist will use them too.

What if a storm day pushes back my review weeks?

Because most of the bundle runs in short daily pieces, a lost day costs one warm-up and one set of task cards, not a whole review lesson. Pick up where you stopped when school reopens. If several days are lost, drop a week of task cards rather than the toolkit practice planned near testing.

How do I receive the materials?

As a digital download. The link arrives by email right after purchase and stays in your customer account under Orders. You can print the first week of warm-ups the same day. Keep the original files in your account in case your printed sets run out before spring testing arrives.
