Oklahoma High School Career Readiness: Eight Units from Résumés to AI
Oklahoma High School Career Readiness: Eight Units from Résumés to AI
For an Oklahoma high school teacher running a career readiness, advisory or work-based learning class, the Career Readiness Curriculum Bundle ($99.99) supplies eight units: money and debt, cover letters and interviews, professional email, presenting, customer conversations, time management, teamwork and conflict, and AI at work. Its money unit can support your school's personal financial literacy teaching, though it does not replace it.
Open the career bundleThe Career Readiness Curriculum Bundle costs $99.99 for eight units that would be $199.92 separately. It covers financial literacy and debt prevention, cover letters, résumés and interviews, business letters and professional email, presenting, customer conversations and conflicts, time management, team conflict, and digitalization and AI in the world of work. It suits Oklahoma advisory and career courses, but it is not written for Oklahoma or tied to any state program.

Digitalisation and AI in the World of Work
The real problem
What career readiness has to fit around in Oklahoma
Oklahoma high schools already carry one money-related obligation. Under 70 O.S. § 11-103.6h, students working toward a standard diploma complete a personal financial literacy passport covering 14 areas of instruction in grades 7 to 12, a rule in effect since the 2008-2009 school year that starts in grade 7. A career class is a natural home for some of that teaching, but how your school assigns and records the 14 areas is a question for your counselor or district. One Oklahoma core curriculum checklist also lists a unit or set of competencies in computer technology or a world language; computer programming, hardware and business computer applications qualify there, and keyboarding does not. So a career readiness teacher is often juggling three jobs at once: helping students write a first résumé and get through an interview, covering money topics that may feed the passport, and preparing them for workplaces where AI tools are already in use. Oklahoma also enacted a statewide school phone restriction in 2025, so check your school's rules before planning any task that relies on students' own devices.
Why it fits
How the eight units line up with an Oklahoma career class
Each unit is complete, so you can run them in order across a semester or pick the ones your course lacks.
- Financial Literacy – Handling Money and Debt Prevention can support passport topics your counselor assigns to the course.
- Application Training covers cover letters, résumés and interviews, with material for mock interview days.
- Business Letter and Professional Email Communication teaches the writing employers and training programs expect.
- Job-related communication covers customer conversations and conflicts, useful before any work-based learning placement.
- Time Management and Study Methods suits students juggling school, part-time jobs and training schedules.
- Digitalisation and AI in the World of Work prepares students for jobs where AI tools are already used.
Getting started
A semester outline for an Oklahoma classroom
This is a suggested order. Your counselor and course description decide what has to come first.
- Ask about the passportBefore the semester starts, ask your counselor which of the 14 personal financial literacy areas, if any, your course is expected to teach. That decides how much time the money unit gets.
- Open with money and timeTeach the financial literacy unit and Time Management and Study Methods first. Students set up habits and a simple budget they can come back to later in the term.
- Build the application fileMove to Application Training. Students draft a cover letter and résumé, then run mock interviews in pairs, working from printed drafts instead of their phones.
- Practice workplace talkUse the professional email, presenting and customer conversation units together. Short role plays and presentations fit well in the weeks before a job shadow or placement.
- Finish with teams and AIClose with Conflict and Team Management and Digitalisation and AI in the World of Work, so students leave thinking about how jobs and teams are changing.
What to buy
The right career readiness purchase
The Career Readiness Curriculum Bundle at $99.99 (parts $199.92) is the full set for a semester course or an advisory program. If your main need is the money side, the Personal Finance Starter Bundle ($59.99, parts $78.94) pairs the same debt prevention unit with a course launch lesson, SMART goals, a money mindset quiz and percentages and interest. Business and finance teachers can look at the Accounting & Economics Fundamentals Bundle ($109.99, parts $224.91). If you only want the AI unit, Digitalisation and AI in the World of Work costs $24.99 on its own.
Honest limits
Limits worth knowing
The bundle is not written for Oklahoma. It has no Oklahoma Academic Standards codes, no link to any state CTE program and no Oklahoma examples, and it does not complete or document the personal financial literacy passport. Check it against your course description and ask your district how the passport is recorded. Local employer contacts, guest speakers and devices are yours to arrange. If several teachers or a whole department want the files, message Teach Lessons first. Not a fit? You can exchange it within 7 days for store credit of equal value, not cash.
Good to know
Frequently asked questions
Does this count for Oklahoma's personal financial literacy passport?
Not by itself. The bundle is not aligned to or approved under Oklahoma's requirements, and it does not track the 14 areas of instruction set out under 70 O.S. § 11-103.6h. Its money and debt unit may support some of that teaching, but your district decides what counts and how it is recorded. Ask your counselor before you rely on it.
Is it linked to an Oklahoma CTE program?
No. The units are general career readiness material and are not tied to any state program of study or approved by any agency. If you teach inside a CTE program, compare the units with your program's course outline and use them where they fit, such as communication, applications or workplace AI.
Does the AI unit count toward the computer technology unit?
No product can decide that. One Oklahoma core curriculum checklist lists computer programming, hardware and business computer applications as qualifying courses for the computer technology unit. A career readiness class is not one of those by default, so ask your district how your course is classified before telling students it counts.
How long does the whole bundle take?
There is no fixed pacing. Eight units can fill a semester at a steady pace or spread across a year of weekly advisory lessons. Start with the units that match your course description, and treat the rest as extensions or as ready lessons for days when a substitute covers your class.
Do students need laptops?
No device is required by the materials. They are worksheets, activities, slides and answer keys you can print or show on a screen. If you want students to type a résumé or try an AI tool, use whatever devices and accounts your school already provides, within your school's phone and device rules.
Can our career and advisory team share one copy?
The licence covers your own teaching. For use by several teachers, such as a whole advisory team, send Teach Lessons a short message before buying so team use is agreed. Sharing the files publicly, reselling them or passing them outside your school is not allowed.
