To sell teaching resources internationally from outside the US, first check how each platform pays people in your country. PayPal-based platforms such as TeachLessons, Boom Learning and Lesson Planned work wherever PayPal can receive money; Tes accepts sellers in almost every country; Stripe-based storefronts depend on Stripe being available where you live.
TeachLessons runs this comparison and is one of the options listed. Fees checked on October 28, 2026; platforms change their terms, so check the linked pages before you decide. Our page on selling teaching resources from outside the US covers buyers, spelling and page sizes.

Why does the payout method decide where I can sell?
Listing a resource is rarely the hard part. The real limit is whether a platform can pay you. Each platform relies on a payment route, and that route decides which countries are covered:
| Payment route | Platforms | Works if |
|---|---|---|
| PayPal | TeachLessons, Boom Learning, Lesson Planned, Made By Teachers, TinyTap | PayPal can receive payments in your country |
| Hyperwallet | Teachers Pay Teachers | Options depend on your country; no country list published |
| Bank transfer | Tes, Etsy (Etsy Payments) | You are in a supported country (Etsy Payments policy) |
| Stripe | Classmade, TeacherStore.io, Classful | Stripe is available in your country |
| Several processors | Payhip, Gumroad | One of their supported processors works for you |
Made By Teachers is shown for completeness, but whether it is taking new sellers is not verified.

Country pages with local advice: UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
In which currency will I be paid?
Currency matters because every conversion costs a little. What the platforms publish:
- Tes: buyers pay in GBP, USD, AUD, EUR, CAD or NZD; royalty is paid in the currency the resource is priced in.
- Etsy: pays to your bank through Etsy Payments; processing fees differ for domestic and international orders in Canada and Australia (fee table).
- Classmade: store currencies include USD, CAD, GBP, AUD and EUR (currency list).
- Payhip: money goes straight to your connected PayPal or Stripe account (Payhip help).
- Teacha!: every second month, by EFT or PayPal, with a R500 minimum per cycle.
- Boom Learning: monthly by PayPal, completed by the 15th, $5 minimum (Boom help).
- TeachLessons: monthly by the 15th, via PayPal, in US dollars only.
With TeachLessons, you set your prices in US dollars and receive US dollars in PayPal. What you get in your own currency depends on the conversion when you move the money. Our article on selling on several platforms explains how to keep records when payouts arrive in different currencies.
Do I pay tax or have tax withheld when I sell from abroad?
We can't answer this for your country, and you should be wary of anyone who answers it in general. What we can say about TeachLessons: you are responsible for taxes on your own income. If the law requires TeachLessons to withhold tax from a payout, for example German withholding tax on payments to sellers outside Germany, it is deducted and you receive a confirmation.
Other platforms have their own tax forms and rules, published in their help centers. Before you register anywhere, ask a tax advisor in your country how to declare income from several platforms.
Can I join TeachLessons from outside the US?
Yes. Teacher-authors from any country can join if they can receive PayPal payments in US dollars and write resources in English, or make language-teaching resources for English-speaking classrooms. Our buyers are mainly in the US, the UK, Canada, Australia, Singapore and international schools.
- Apply. The short application form takes about five minutes.
- Sign and list. We email you the seller documents; you sign and list your resources in the submission sheet.
- Send one email. Documents, resource files, previews and thumbnails go to support@stifo.de.
- Get paid. Monthly by the 15th in US dollars via PayPal, with a statement of every sale.
A $5 sale pays $3.40 on TeachLessons, less than several platforms in our $5 sale comparison, and TeachLessons launched in October 2026, so its audience is smaller. There are no fees and no exclusivity, so it can run alongside a platform you already use.
Key takeaway: Start with the payment route that works in your country, then compare fees. If PayPal can pay you, PayPal-based platforms, including TeachLessons, are a simple place to begin.

Questions sellers ask
Can I sell teaching resources online if I don't live in the US?
Yes. Tes accepts sellers in almost every country, PayPal-based platforms work wherever PayPal can pay you, and storefronts like Payhip and Gumroad support many countries.
Does Teachers Pay Teachers pay sellers outside the US?
TPT pays through Hyperwallet, and its help center says the payout options depend on your country. It does not publish a country list, so check before you register.
Which currency does TeachLessons pay in?
US dollars only, via PayPal, once a month by the 15th for the previous month's sales.
Can I price my resources in pounds, euros or Australian dollars?
On TeachLessons, no: prices are set in US dollars. Tes, Classmade and Etsy let you work in other currencies.
Will tax be taken from my TeachLessons payout?
Only if the law requires it, for example German withholding tax on payments to sellers outside Germany. You then receive a confirmation. Ask a tax advisor in your country about your own situation.
Do I need to use American spelling to sell on TeachLessons?
Resources must be in English. Say in your listing which spelling and page size (US Letter or A4) you use, so buyers know what they get.
