Why teachers use these

Why DP teachers use these

In a lot of schools you are the only teacher of your DP subject, which means every lesson, every stimulus and every practice question is yours to write across a two-year course. These units give you the slide deck, the graduated questions and the worked answers, so evenings go on internal assessment feedback instead of typesetting. The material is concept-led, which means it drops into a unit planner and gives students something to think with rather than a list to memorise.

What's covered

What is inside each DP-ready download

Each unit is a taught sequence with the practice and the answers already written.

  • Concept-led lesson sequences
  • Command term practice questions
  • Case studies as stimulus material
  • Four levels of scaffolded tasks
  • Worked answers showing the reasoning
  • Editable slides for SL and HL

Make it work for everyone

Stretching HL while supporting SL

The four task levels keep SL and HL students in the same discussion and then separate the demand of the written work. Collect one graduated task a fortnight as a paper trail of progress. The worked answers are useful in feedback too, because they show a student exactly where a response moved from describing to evaluating.

Good to know

Frequently asked questions

Are these resources approved by the IB?

No. They are not produced, endorsed or approved by the International Baccalaureate Organization and they are not official IB publications. Each unit is written to the concepts, skills and thinking DP courses cover, so it lines up with what you teach. Check it against your current subject guide before planning with it.

Can students use these for internal assessment?

Use them for teaching and practice, not as the assessed task itself. IA work has to be a student's own and produced under your supervision, so treat these units as the training beforehand: reading a stimulus, choosing a tool, justifying a conclusion and then writing to a command term properly.

Do they cover both SL and HL classes?

Tasks are written across four levels of demand, so one lesson can run with SL and HL students together. The higher levels ask for evaluation, extended justification and more data handling. Since every file is editable Word or PowerPoint, you can cut or add material to match the syllabus you actually teach.
