Your author page, blog mentions and landing pages
Selling with TeachLessons is more than a product listing. We build pages that introduce you and your resources to teachers, so buyers can find your work and come back for more.
Short answer: Every TeachLessons seller gets a teacher author page on teachlessons.us that shows who you are and lists your resources. We also build landing pages for your resources, mention you in our blog and write SEO product pages with titles, descriptions and FAQ. You give consent with a separate box in the Seller Agreement. We can't promise rankings or sales.
What is a teacher author page?
Your author page is a page on teachlessons.us about you as a teacher-author. It brings together a short introduction (your teaching background, subjects and grades) and your resources in one place. When a teacher likes one of your resources, the author page is where they can see what else you've made.
It also gives you a page you can link to from your own website, email signature or social media, if you like, alongside any other shops you run. Selling with us is not exclusive.
What do you build for each seller?
Product pages
Titles, descriptions, FAQ, SEO and structured data written for each resource, based on your files and the short description in your Resource Submission List.
Your author page
An introduction to you and your work, with your resources listed in one place.
Landing pages
Pages built around your resources, for example a topic or grade level, so teachers searching for that topic find them.
Blog mentions
Mentions of you and your resources in our blog, where they fit the topic of an article.
Extra previews
We use the previews and thumbnails you send and may make further previews from your files.
Promotion
We may use your name, store name, logo and short excerpts of your resources to promote them.
There is no fee for any of this: no membership, sign-up, annual, listing or per-resource fee. You keep 70% of net revenue on every sale. Our page on free SEO for teacher-authors explains the product page side in more detail.
Why is there a separate consent box?
An author page, landing pages and blog mentions put your name and work in front of the public in a more personal way than a product listing. That is why the Seller Agreement has a separate consent box for it. You tick it if you agree that we create an author page, mention you in the blog and build landing pages.
If you have questions about what this means for you, for example if you'd rather sell under a store name than your own name, email support@stifo.de before you sign.
What do you need from me for my author page?
Not much. Most of it comes with your normal submission:
- A short bio. Three to five sentences: what you teach or taught, which grades, where (country or type of school is enough), and what kind of resources you make.
- A photo or logo (optional). A friendly head-and-shoulders photo or your store logo. Skip it if you prefer.
- Your store name, if you use one. The name buyers may already know you by.
- Final previews and thumbnails. These appear on your author page and landing pages, so send the versions you are happy for teachers to see.
Resources go live as soon as they're set up, without an extra approval round, so send your bio and images in their final form.
How do I write a good teacher-author bio?
Teachers trust other teachers. A good bio answers "does this person know my classroom?" in a few lines. From experience, the bios that work best are specific and plain:
| Weaker | Stronger |
|---|---|
| Passionate educator who loves creating engaging resources. | Fourth-grade teacher for eleven years. I make reading response pages I use with my own class every week. |
| Experienced teacher with lots of ideas. | Secondary science teacher in the UK, teaching Key Stage 3 and GCSE chemistry. My revision sheets come from years of exam marking. |
| I love helping teachers save time. | I write ESL speaking activities for mixed-level adult and teen classes, tested in my own lessons. |
Leave out anything you wouldn't want a colleague or your school to read, and don't name your current school or any student.
Two more tips. Write in the first person, as you would introduce yourself at a training day. And mention the format teachers can expect from you, for example printable PDFs, editable slides or both, so a buyer knows straight away whether your resources suit the way they teach.
How does an author page help buyers find my resources?
Buyers rarely search for a seller's name at first. They search for a topic: "fractions worksheets grade 5", "persuasive writing unit year 8". Landing pages and product pages are built around those searches. Once a teacher has found and liked one resource, your author page makes it easy for them to find your others.
Blog mentions work in a similar way. An article on teaching a topic can point readers to resources that fit, including yours.
We can't promise search rankings, traffic or a number of sales. Search engines decide rankings, and sales depend on what teachers need. What we can do is write clear, well-structured pages for your resources at no cost to you.
Can I update or remove my author page?
Yes. Send updates to your bio, photo or logo by email. If you remove resources or end the agreement, removal takes effect within 60 days, and either side can end the agreement with 60 days' notice. Buyers keep access to what they already bought. The full terms are on the key terms page. Ready to start? Apply with the short form.
Frequently asked questions
Does every seller get an author page?
Yes, if you tick the separate consent box in the Seller Agreement. We then create an author page, landing pages for your resources and blog mentions.
Do I have to provide a photo?
No. A photo or logo is optional. A short bio and your final previews are what we need most.
Does the author page cost anything?
No. There are no membership, sign-up, annual, listing or per-resource fees.
Will my author page rank on Google?
We can't promise rankings. We write clear, structured pages, but search engines decide where pages appear.
Can I link to my author page from my own website?
Yes. Selling with TeachLessons is not exclusive, so you can link to your author page alongside your other shops.
Who writes my product descriptions?
We do. We write titles, descriptions, FAQ, SEO and structured data based on your files and your short descriptions.
Ready to sell your teaching resources?
Apply with the short form. We email you the seller documents, you send your final files with previews and thumbnails, and we set up your product pages, your author page and landing pages. You keep 70% of net revenue, with no fees and no exclusivity.
