Is TeachLessons legit? Who runs the TeachLessons Seller Program

Trust and transparency

The TeachLessons Seller Program is a non-exclusive program in which teacher-authors sell their teaching resources on teachlessons.us and keep 70% of net revenue, with no membership, listing or per-resource fees. It is run by a named person with a published business address in Germany.

Short answer: The TeachLessons Seller Program is run by Luca Marius Steffan, trading as TeachLessons, Höttkesweg 15, 46242 Bottrop, Germany. Sellers sign a written Seller Agreement under German law, which we countersign, and are paid monthly by PayPal with a statement of every sale. You can read every document before you send a single file.

Who runs the TeachLessons Seller Program?

TeachLessons is run by Luca Marius Steffan, trading as TeachLessons, Höttkesweg 15, 46242 Bottrop, Germany. TeachLessons is an online store at teachlessons.us that sells English-language teaching resources to teachers, schools and homeschool parents, mainly in the US, the UK, Canada, Australia, Singapore and international schools.

The same operator also runs stifo.de, a German store for teaching materials. The TeachLessons Seller Program launched in October 2026. It is new, and we would rather you know that before you join than find out later.

We don't publish reviews, ratings or seller numbers on this page, and we won't. A new program can't show a long track record. What it can show is a named operator, a business address, written terms and a clear payout process, which is what the rest of this page sets out.

Why is the seller contact support@stifo.de?

Because the operator of TeachLessons also runs stifo.de, seller support for both stores goes through one mailbox. All seller emails, documents, files and questions go to support@stifo.de. That is the only seller address.

When you email us, write from the address you want to use for the program. If we receive a copyright complaint about one of your resources, we contact you at the address you sent your documents from.

What do you sign, and which law applies?

After you apply with the short form, we email you the seller documents:

  • the Seller Agreement
  • the Seller Details & Payout Form
  • the Resource Rights Checklist
  • the Resource Submission List (an Excel sheet)
  • the Seller Privacy Notice
  • a one-page guide

You sign the agreement by hand or with a drawn electronic signature in a PDF app. We countersign it and email you a copy, so both sides hold the same signed document. The agreement is governed by German law. Content on our website is general information, not legal, tax or financial advice. The signed Seller Agreement is what binds both sides.

The agreement gives TeachLessons a non-exclusive license only. You keep your copyright and all other rights, and you may sell the same resources anywhere else. Either side can end the agreement with 60 days' notice. The key terms in plain language summarize the main clauses.

How does TeachLessons pay sellers?

Sellers keep 70% of net revenue. Net revenue is the price the customer paid, after any discount and without sales tax or VAT, minus a 3% payment cost. On a $5.00 sale you get $3.40; on a $10.00 sale you get $6.79.

  • Payouts are made once a month, by the 15th, for the previous month's sales.
  • They are paid via PayPal, in US dollars.
  • Each payout comes with a statement listing every sale, so you can check each line.
  • Report a statement error within 6 weeks.
  • If an order is refunded, there is no payout for that sale, and an amount already paid is deducted from the next payout.

Sellers are responsible for taxes on their own income. If the law requires TeachLessons to withhold tax from a payout (for example German withholding tax on payments to sellers outside Germany), it is deducted and you get a confirmation. Check with a tax advisor in your country. Our page on how seller payouts work goes through a statement line by line.

How can you check TeachLessons before you join?

You don't need to take our word for anything. Here is what we'd check in your place:

  1. Read the documents first. The application form takes no files and no signature. Read the Seller Agreement we email you before you sign or send anything.
  2. Ask questions in writing. Email support@stifo.de with anything unclear and keep the answers.
  3. Look at the store. Visit teachlessons.us and see how existing product pages are written and presented.
  4. Compare the terms. Put our numbers next to other platforms. Our comparison with other marketplaces links each platform's official terms.
  5. Start with a few resources. Send a small set first and see how the pages and the first statement look.
  6. Keep your own records. Note what you sent, when, and at what price. Our page on records and taxes for teacher-sellers shows a simple setup.

What does TeachLessons not promise?

  • No promised sales or income. We can't promise a number of sales, an income level or search rankings.
  • No review round. Resources go live as soon as they are set up. We don't check them for errors or third-party rights, so send final versions you have the rights to.
  • No tax advice. Tax depends on where you live. Ask a tax advisor in your country.
  • No large audience yet. The program launched in October 2026 and has a smaller audience than large marketplaces.
