TeachLessons Seller Program pros and cons
The TeachLessons Seller Program is a non-exclusive program in which teacher-authors sell their teaching resources on teachlessons.us and keep 70% of net revenue, with no membership, listing or per-resource fees. Here is what works well, what doesn't, and who it suits.
Short answer: The TeachLessons Seller Program suits teacher-authors who want a second channel with no fees, no exclusivity and product pages written for them. The downsides: it launched in October 2026, its audience is smaller than large marketplaces, and on a $5 sale it pays less than TPT Exclusive or Etsy.

| Fact | TeachLessons Seller Program |
|---|---|
| Operator | Luca Marius Steffan, trading as TeachLessons |
| Location | Höttkesweg 15, 46242 Bottrop, Germany |
| Launched | October 2026 |
| Website | teachlessons.us (program overview: Sell with TeachLessons) |
| Contact | support@stifo.de (the operator also runs stifo.de) |
| Revenue split | Seller keeps 70% of net revenue, TeachLessons keeps 30%. Net revenue = price paid minus a 3% payment cost, so the seller gets 67.9% of the price ($3.40 on a $5.00 sale) |
| Fees | None: no membership, sign-up, annual, listing or per-resource fee |
| Exclusivity | None. Sellers may sell the same resources anywhere else |
| Payouts | Monthly by the 15th for the previous month's sales, via PayPal, in US dollars, with a statement listing every sale |
| Who can join | Teacher-authors from any country who can receive PayPal payments in US dollars and write resources in English (or language-teaching resources for English-speaking classrooms) |
| How to apply | Short application form (about five minutes), then the signed documents and final files in one email |
| Governing law | German law. The signed Seller Agreement is binding |
What are the pros of the TeachLessons Seller Program?
- No fees. No membership, sign-up, annual, listing or per-resource fee. You can list ten resources or two hundred and pay nothing up front.
- No exclusivity. You can keep selling the same resources in your own shop and on other marketplaces, unless you signed an exclusive deal for a resource elsewhere.
- Product pages written for you. We write titles, descriptions, FAQs, SEO and structured data for each resource. Writing listing copy takes time, and we do it for you.
- Author page, landing pages and blog mentions. Each seller gets an author page, landing pages for their resources and mentions in our blog, with separate consent.
- One email to list many resources. The Resource Submission List lets you send a whole catalog at once instead of uploading item by item.
- You keep your copyright. TeachLessons only gets a non-exclusive license while the agreement runs.
- Simple, fixed split. 70% of net revenue on every sale, with no tiers and no sales thresholds. On a $5.00 sale that is $3.40, more than TPT Basic ($2.45) or a new Tes author ($3.00) on the same price.
- Any country. If you can receive PayPal payments in US dollars and write in English, you can join.
What are the cons of the TeachLessons Seller Program?
- It is new. The program launched in October 2026. There is no long track record yet.
- Smaller audience. TeachLessons has a smaller audience than large marketplaces. A resource listed only here will probably be seen by fewer buyers than on the biggest teacher marketplace. We can't promise a number of sales.
- Lower share than some platforms on a $5 sale. You get $3.40. TPT Premium pays $4.00 until December 31, 2026, TPT Exclusive pays $3.88 from January 1, 2027, and an Etsy US seller keeps about $4.08, per their published fees. TPT Exclusive does require a yearly fee and selling digital educational resources only on TPT.
- US dollars and PayPal only. Payouts go through PayPal in US dollars. If you can't receive PayPal payments in US dollars, you can't join, and any currency conversion happens on your side.
- No review round. Resources go live as soon as they are set up, with no review or approval step. That is fast, but it means typos and wrong answer keys go live too. You must send final versions.
- Contact address on stifo.de. Seller email goes to support@stifo.de, because the operator also runs stifo.de, a German store for teaching materials. It is the correct address, but it can look odd at first.
- Monthly payouts only. You are paid once a month, by the 15th, for the previous month's sales. There is no instant withdrawal.
- Rights checks are on you. TeachLessons does not check resources for third-party rights, and a claim caused by your resource is your responsibility.

What does a $5 sale pay compared with other platforms?
One resource sold for $5.00, no discount, no tax inside the price. Figures for other platforms are taken from their own published terms.
| Platform | What a $5.00 sale pays the seller | Source |
|---|---|---|
| TeachLessons | $5.00 x 0.97 x 0.70 = $3.40, no fees | Key terms |
| TPT Basic | $5.00 x 0.55 minus $0.30 = $2.45 ($29 one-time fee to join) | TPT seller fees |
| TPT Premium / Exclusive | Premium: $5.00 x 0.80 = $4.00 until December 31, 2026; Exclusive: $5.00 x 0.775 = $3.88 from January 1, 2027 ($59.95 per year) | TPT announcement |
| Tes (new author) | $5.00 x 0.60 = $3.00 | Tes selling FAQ |
| Etsy (US seller) | $5.00 minus $0.20 listing, 6.5% and 3% + $0.25 = about $4.08 | Etsy fees |

Who is the TeachLessons Seller Program a good fit for?
- Teacher-authors who already sell on a non-exclusive platform and want a second channel without fees.
- Teachers with finished resources who don't want to write product descriptions, SEO text and FAQs themselves.
- Sellers outside the US who can receive PayPal in US dollars and want to reach US and international buyers.
- Authors with a large catalog who prefer to send everything in one email with a spreadsheet.
Our guide to adding a second sales channel explains how to run two stores without mixing up files and prices.
Who should probably sell elsewhere?
- Sellers who have signed an exclusive deal elsewhere for their resources. Under TPT Exclusive, for example, digital educational resources must be sold only on TPT.
- Anyone who needs payouts in another currency or by bank transfer instead of PayPal.
- Sellers who want a review step that catches errors before going live.
- Anyone who needs a long track record and a large existing audience before listing anywhere.
How can you try it with low risk?
- Read before you send. Apply and read the Seller Agreement we email you. You send nothing until you've seen it.
- Start small. List a handful of finished resources rather than your whole catalog.
- Check your statement. Each monthly payout comes with a statement listing every sale. Report errors within 6 weeks.
- Remove if it doesn't work. Email us to remove resources at any time. Removal takes effect within 60 days, and earlier sales are still paid.

Does TeachLessons pay more than TPT?
On a $5.00 sale TeachLessons pays $3.40, more than TPT Basic ($2.45) but less than TPT Premium ($4.00 until December 31, 2026) and TPT Exclusive ($3.88 from January 1, 2027), per TPT's published fees checked on October 28, 2026.
